| BAYES' THEOREM AND THE INTERPRETATION OF THE WEIGHT OF BIOLOGICAL EVIDENCE | |
|
Paulina WOLAŃSKA-NOWAK Streszczenie DNA profiling can be used to identify criminals through matching their DNA with DNA left at the scene of the crime. The strength of the biological evidence supplied by a match of DNA profiles is given by the likelihood ratio (from Bayes' point of view). This is the ratio of the probabilities that the evidence would have been obtained given that the suspect is guilty and innocent, respectively.
