Toxicological examinations of systemic fluids and tissues from individuals involved in work accidents should be taken into consideration while giving medico-legal opinions referring to fatal work accidents, especially those with a higher risk of being exposed to the effects of gases, vapours of solvents or chemical semi-products involved with a given type of production. The authors show the significance of toxicological analysis in its medico-legal evaluation with regard to the case of a fatal accident in a varnishing workshop, which involved a fall from a height.
