Methods and results of examination of human scent traces are presented in this work. The purpose of the examination was to determine the possibility of a transfer of a person’s scent onto a carrier (e.g. a driver’s seat or a steering wheel) through the medium of his or her garment used by another person, as well as the infiltration of the person’s scent through the garment. By means of the examination of scent traces of people it was shown that such processes might occur under conditions specified during the study. Furthermore, it was established that the examination of human scent traces has a destructive character and the obtained results may be non-repeatable.
