Problems of Forensic Sciences - Vol. 76 (LXXVI)

Dear Colleagues,

The new volume (LXXVI) of the Problems of Forensic Sciences is already available to our readers. Published papers discuss variety of forensic disciplines, i.e. odontology, DNA analysis, psychology and toxicology. You may directly proceed to the article of interest by clicking at:

A LIKELIHOOD RATIO APPROACH TO IDENTIFICATION IN FORENSIC ODONTOLOGY

HUMAN NUCLEAR AND MALE Y-CHROMOSOME DNA QUANTIFICATION BY REAL-TIME PCR ASSAY

APPLICATION OF BIOROBOT M48 TO DNA EXTRACTION FROM BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS ANALYSED IN FORENSIC INVESTIGATIONS

CONTROVERSIES AROUND THE CONCEPT OF PSYCHOPATHY AND ITS USEFULNESS IN FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGICAL REPORTING CONCERNING ADOLESCENTS

SCREENING FOR DRUG-FACILITATED SEXUAL ASSAULT BY MEANS OF LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY COUPLED TO ATMOSPHERIC-PRESSURE CHEMICAL-IONISATION-MASS SPECTROMETRY (LC-APCI-MS)

ICP-OES IN ANALYSIS OF INORGANIC POISONS IN BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS

You can also find an interesting review of the book "Introduction to Forensic Sciences ad Criminalistics" by R. E. Geanslen, H. A. Harris and H. C. Lee, McGraw-Hill, New York.

REVIEW OF INTRODUCTION TO FORENSIC SCIENCE AND CRIMINALISTICS BY R.E. GEANSLEN, H. HARRIS AND H.C. LEE

We would like to draw yours attention especially to the paper wrote by Jean-Luc Gremaud who reviewed the main research projects which have been conducted with radiographic and nonradiographic dental health data and presented a likelihood ratio model for evaluation of evidence value of such data. This is a next example how successfully could be realized the vision for the joint future of forensic scientists and statistics as one of increasing collaboration over the whole range of scientific endeavor. This vision is also promoted by the ENFSI project "Forensic Statistics – FORSTAT" of a regular series of training workshops. The 3rd meeting is planed for the Institute of Forensic Research, Krakow in the summer of 2009 (18th – 19th June).

With best regards,

Problems of Forensic Sciences
